IBSSamplingError#

Note

A call of an IBS object raises IBSSamplingError when it cannot return an estimate: when a trial draws more than max_iter * num_reps samples, or when max_time stops the sampling before a trial has completed a repeat. Its message names the trials concerned and the setting to raise.

It is a subclass of RuntimeError.

exception pyibs.IBSSamplingError#

IBS sampling ended without an estimate.

Raised when a trial draws more samples than the configured cap. The cap is checked after each simulator call, including all samples in that call, even if the call also completes the requested repeats. An observed response with very low or zero probability at the given parameter vector is a common cause.

Also raised when the time limit stops sampling and at least one trial has no completed count to average. Unfinished counts cannot be substituted for completed ones in an IBS estimate.
